This summer has been longer than we expected and has come to an end far too quickly. Funny how time works like that.
We have all learned to make plans in pencil and be flexible to the changing world around us. The Apostle Paul knew a lot about that. He approached life with zeal and great discipline to what he thought was right. Going as far as persecuting the church for what he believed to be a great heresy. His world was turned upside down when he met Jesus Christ.
He got a new name and a completely different outlook on life and ministry. Over the course of his career the Spirit of God redirected his plans more than once. Learning to rely on God and finding his fight wasn’t against earthly powers he wrote to encourage the church at Ephesus from a prison cell. Telling them to “be strong in the Lord and his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, and against the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.” (Eph 6:10-17)
Paul learned that his true enemy in this world was not a pandemic, back sliding church members, or even government authorities but the corruption of evil in the heart of humanity. This is not a battle we can win with our own strength. We must submit to GOD daily and rely on His strength. We have not been left naked. We have the full armor of God to keep us. We may not know the path that is in front of us, but we know where the journey will end. I long for the day when I see those heavenly shores. Until then, I pray that each of you stay steadfast and ready for battle.
Make plans in pencil and pray that God will use you in a special way. We at Another Chance Church were reminded of how flexible we must be this summer in ministry. We set aside some family time to spend with our children, Pastor Jared started a new Secular job and has been getting used to a new schedule. We lost our beloved grandmother but we know she is celebrating in heaven, The First Lady of ACC Pastor Jared’s wife Mica had to have surgery but all went well and healing has begun.
So a lot of erasing and rescheduling has been taking place this summer but we are looking forward to the new school year and to being able to get out with our pop-up services and getting to interact in person more. Please look for more updates @ accboerne.com. We would love to pray with or for you and you can send those requests to accboerne@hotmail.com.
